I'm just laughing at my previous blog post... dated March 2, 2020. I had big plans for blog posts and website updates and all. the. things... and then WHAM! A pandemic hits, like nothing we've ever seen in our lifetimes. By March 12 I was working from home, sometimes 5 days, sometimes 3 days, 1 week of complete lay-off. Its been unsettling to say the least.
Has anyone else lost all their mojo through this craziness? Covid-19, social injustice, political unrest... It all has me all kinds of out of sorts. Truth be told I haven't sewn anything since last year except for a few masks for friends and family... I just lost all interest in doing it.
I'm hoping you enjoyed your Labor Day weekend. In a normal year I'd be deep into summer and fall festivals. I'd be excited for the upcoming holiday season. Making plans for Colorscape and Sharon Springs Harvest festival would be consuming my thoughts. It's so weird to have every festival shut down. Almost every show all year. in. the. whole. country. Who knew a year ago that this would be where we'd be?!?!
In light of all of the above... I thought I would try something sort of new.. OK really new for me. Even though I'm not making my typical bonseye design products, I have still been working on some creative interests... Mostly house projects and food. I'm going to try and put together a little series of what I've been doing this year. Give you a glimpse of the turns my creative life, such as it is, has taken this year.
This grid of photos is a little teaser. It's actually nice to go back through and see what I've accomplished when the world was shut down.
Stay safe and healthy, my friends.
